The Right-of-Way Representative in Yuma, Arizona will work with Designers and Survey to determine right-of-way and easement needs. Research existing municipal rights-of-way, existing easements and property ownership for the purpose of completing permit and license applications with appropriate municipalities and utilities. Provide Survey with recorded plat and easement information for the purpose of staking new facilities. Create accurate exhibits and legal descriptions for easements and negotiate rights-of-way with customers.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and five years related experience with three years directly related right-of-way experience.

  • Math skills in algebra and trigonometry.

  • Experience in Word, Excel, AutoCAD and Maximo required.

  • Experience in interpreting/writing property legal descriptions, related real estate transactions, survey and boundary control principals

  • Experience with Company procedures/standards and understanding of construction work orders and drawings.

  • Valid AZ driver's license required.

  • Previous experience in the use of survey tools a plus.

Major Accountabilities

1) Interface with the Designer, Engineer or project leaders to gather required information about the construction project and data necessary to research all involved parcels.

2) Determine easement and right-of-way needs through reviews of current legal descriptions and project requirements.

3) Provide survey with necessary information to conduct surveys of project sites and mark boundaries and facility and/or equipment locations.

4) Obtain customer consent to easement locations, create exhibits and write corresponding legal descriptions

5) Negotiate right-of-way costs/boundaries and process check requests to compensate the customer.

6) Obtain all necessary permits and licenses from municipalities and other utilities.

7) Track permits to guarantee their validity throughout the life of the project.

8) Update Maximo to reflect permit and easement requirements and activity.

9) Release jobs to construction upon receipt of all necessary permits, licenses and easements.
