The Sr. Electrical Engineer position will support the Gas Process Engineering department in their implementation of various midstream and RNG capital projects. This position will execute the safe, effective and code compliant design of electrical and control systems for a project.
Duties and Responsibilities
Execute the engineering design of new natural gas related infrastructure projects. Typical projects include liquefied natural gas (LNG), renewable natural gas (RNG), natural gas transmission pipelines, natural gas metering and regulating stations.
Design new power distribution systems including the specification of major equipment like transformers, MCCs, generators, motors, VFDs, power panels, UPS, etc. Generate or review design documentation including equipment drawings/specifications, single lines, load lists, hazardous area classifications, cable and conduit schedules, panel schedules, grounding plans, lighting plans, etc.
Oversee and assist in the specification of instrumentation and control systems like transmitters, switches, PLC panels and components, etc. Review instrumentation and control design documentation including instrument loop sheets, cable and conduit schedules, PLC layouts, control narratives, PLC programming, HMI programming, etc.
Assist in the construction, installation and commissioning of power and instrumentation/control systems as described above. Provide technical support for the Operations group on the continued safe operation of commissioned facilities.

Serve as coordinator for all Management of Change (MOC) and safety reviews in support of facility modifications and associated start-ups.
Provide ongoing support with any control automation changes, updates or instrumentation review tasks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards required, particularly NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 72. Familiarity with other applicable codes desired, including NFPA 20, AGA XL1001, API RP 500, IEC 61508, and IEC 61511.
Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, panel drawings, QA/QC documents, and process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID).
Excellent technical writing skills, specification development, and experience providing training and guidance on standards and procedures.
Strong communication skills and the ability to professionally represent the Company in regulatory inspections and audits.
Self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar required.
Minimum of 5 years of electrical facility design experience required. Preference given to applicants with experience in the natural gas industry, process design, cryogenics, gas compression, or similar.
1-2 Years of experience working in a position requiring technical writing skills.
