Job Summary/Purpose

Responsible for developing, planning and directing Operating Company Economic Development programs, activities and policies to improve the economy in the company's service territory. Integrates economic development with Customer Service Representatives through communication, collaboration, and project management execution to better capture new, expansion, and retention opportunities in Commercial &Industrial markets. Integrates community development activities with Customer Service Representatives. Interacts with corporate Economic Development group on Industry-focused business development, strategic research, and investment in innovative technologies that provides lead generation, greater control over projects, and consistency in quality and speed of service delivery.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsible for strategic direction, planning and performance of organization to develop profitable growth opportunities in the Entergy's footprint.

Develop programs that support and enhance the company's competitiveness for growth with state and local Economic Development partners and allies.

Manage relations with local Economic Development agencies & leverage relationships with local business leaders; turn qualified economic development leads into executed contracts.

Project management leadership for new prospects project development and bid preparation including business case development, risk committee concurrence and capital approval process management; develop Tier 1 sites to attract significant business expansion and job growth.

Coordinate with peer Operating Company Directors & Corp ED to understand their industry focus at a regional and state level to be incorporated using market analysis into a strategic business development and sales plan for implementation with Strategic Marketing Analysts and Business Development Managers

Direct functions to grow & retain existing revenues and meet service needs of large industrial customers. Develop Executive level relationships with large industrial customers that enable partnership opportunities that support their future business needs.

Direct efforts to market and transact with Commercial &Industrial customers various products and services that support future growth and partnership opportunities.

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s degree in Government Affairs, Public Relations, Communication, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field. In lieu of degree, 9 years of experience in leadership roles, preferably in economic development, marketing, commercial negotiations, or customer service

MBA highly desirable.

8+ years in leadership roles, preferably in economic development, marketing, commercial negotiations, or customer service
