We are currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our dynamic Team supporting a major telecommunications infrastructure project.
The Project Controls Specialist must be able to participate in a cross-functional team environment in development and oversight of construction related project controls tasks.
General Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
Provide cost control and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling support
Implement project planning processes to include considerations of project set-up, execution, monitoring and closeout. This will require development and tracking of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Support the oversight of cost, schedule and performance progress and identification of dependencies and relationships
Ensure the project schedule reflects the entire project scope and that tasks are linked in a logical relationship sequence
Baseline change requests and trend logs
Work with cross-functional team members to ensure the project is on-time and on-budget
Assist in development and implementation of project controls process, procedures, systems and tools to support project execution
Review, analyze project monthly cost reports and offer guidance and explanations for change
Interpret monthly cost analysis to forecast projects on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Ensure project controls procedures are implemented, and adhered to, and result in no audit exceptions when audited both internally/externally or by Clients
Have an understanding of Federal, State, local and company safety policies and assist in the continued development of a Safety Culture in the workplace.
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering, appropriate certifications also accepted
5 years of experience in project controls and the utility construction industry in lieu of degree
Ability to use computers and computer software for communication, planning/scheduling, budgeting and forecasting
Demonstrated expertise in the use of modern planning and scheduling principles, methodologies, techniques, and tools
Demonstrated proficiency using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel
High level of analytical thinking skills to plan and forecast work
Positive history of leadership and communication (written and verbal)
Proven history of working in a cross-functional environment providing accurate data to team members to ensure forecasted project delivery
An understanding of CPM to ensure, and communicate, timely delivery of milestone tasks
Must be self-motivated.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in team based environment
Must have strong multi-tasking and organization skills
Ability to quickly adapt as situations change and make the best possible decisions with the information at-hand
Must have demonstrated experience in providing schedule analysis services to ensure that the baseline schedule is accurate and complete for the project
Must have strong communication, problem solving skills and business acumen.
Must have strong analytical and process mapping/work flow skills.
Must have strong time management skills.

Candidates with certifications received through PMI or other similar organizations focused on recognition of expertise in Project Management
