Job Summary

THIS POSITION IS NOT PART OF A SERIES NOR IS IT A NATURAL PROGRESSION. This role supports an assigned regional area consisting of several offices/garages for the Fleet Maintenance organization. This position largely works independently and exercises considerable discretion in performance of duties and responsibilities. Processes invoices, reconciles credit card statements and resolves disputed charges. Investigates and provides routine explanations for variations from generally expected results. Resolves discrepancies and may communicate with various administrative and professional employees within and outside the company.

Responsible for the identification of volume material discount opportunities, developing a proposal strategy and negotiating bottom line savings. Orders stock and specialty parts for delivery to designated garages as required. Responsible for researching and acquiring hard to find parts and accessories. Maintains and optimizes physical inventory for assigned locations and reconciles with electronic records.

Assists in safety and environmental compliance of garage facilities. Responsible for inventory and overall condition of parts room at assigned locations. Attend and participates in garage safety meetings and provides updates as requested.

Assists in scheduling preventive maintenance, repairs, and other garage activities. Responsible for compiling data to translate into information in support of Fleet Maintenance objectives. Completes special assignments and projects. May provide guidance and assist in training of less experienced staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

3+ years of related experience required. Knowledge of garage operations, General knowledge of a variety of automobiles, associated parts and maintenance/repair process, Knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment and hydraulic equipment, associated parts and maintenance/repair process considered a plus.

Ability to solve problems and make quick decisions. Ability to prioritize work and effectively handle constantly changing and emergency priorities.

Ability to work independently and to exercise considerable discretion in responsibilities. Excellent analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Proficiency with Asset Works M5, SAP and Microsoft Access considered a plus.

High School Graduate, GED
