The Opportunity

Supports Governments & Communities Sector (G&C) leadership to drive continuous improvement in sales operations efficiency and effectiveness. Areas of focus include support of ongoing sales, proposal, and client management programs; monitoring CRM data quality and key performance indicators, as established by G&C leadership; promoting sales operations and CRM best practices; capturing lessons learned; advancing sales management systems, tools, and dashboards; and promoting change management through collaboration, education, and team building across the Sector.

The Team

Black & Veatch’s Governments & Communities focuses on specific infrastructure needs of municipalities, state and local governments, and specialized physical and digital infrastructure solutions for government and federal agencies. Key Responsibilities

  • Works closely with G&C Leadership to drive continuous improvement in sales operations efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Supports ongoing sales, proposal, and client management activities across G&C, and consistently champions the use and benefits of best practices to assure CRM data quality. Captures lessons learned and best practices to support the development and implementation of sustainable sales operations process improvements.

  • Monitors CRM data and Key Performance Indicators for sales operations to aid prioritization and justification of process improvements.

  • Advances sales management systems, tools, and integration to enhance ease of use, improve content, and assist change management by working closely with the G&C leadership team.

  • Develops and monitors the effectiveness of sales dashboards tailored to G&C leadership needs that inform on prospect, pipeline, client and growth activities, enriching management decision-making.

  • Educates and trains professionals across G&C on sales operations methods and best practices.

  • Provides support and leadership for special sales initiatives and programs.

  • Self-directs and prioritizes own workload.

  • Collaborates with Finance to validate and ensure booking data accuracy, alignment with revenue recognition policies and timely reporting.

  • Works with the Enterprise Sales Team to gather feedback, support development, and assist in the rollout of new Salesforce enhancements to drive adoption and improve sales processes.

  • Provide helpdesk-style support to the sector by troubleshooting system issues, addressing workflow challenges, and guiding users through Salesforce functionalities to ensure efficient and accurate usage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of professional experience, to include at least 2 years of CRM support with strong skills in Salesforce specifically,as well as experience in sales/marketing/business analysis or strategy, and/or proposal experience in the A/E/C industry strongly preferred.

  • Intermediate knowledge and overall understanding of A/E/C industry business drivers, financials, motivators, and business development techniques strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment with a strong desire to improve team building skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills.

  • Exhibits computer proficiency including strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

  • Intermediate problem-solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve).

  • Ability to self-direct workload including the ability to prioritize, organize, and schedule own work to achieve deadlines.

  • Ability to think strategically, and to provide training and guidance to different personalities and levels across the organization.

  • Exhibits high ethical standards in business and in work, maintains a reputation of integrity and customer service among internal clients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
