Temporary Project Analyst, Sustainability
The Project Analyst - Sustainability is responsible for projects and assignments that support the Sustainability Program and advance NYPA’s efforts to integrate sustainability across company operations. Under the guidance and supervision of the Director, Sustainability, the Project Analyst works with inter-departmental teams to identify, develop and implement projects that improve sustainability performance at each step of the value chain. Responsibilities vary by project but include research, quantitative analysis, project management, preparation of reports and presentations, and development of training resources.
Manage projects across NYPA business units and departments: define project scope, develop detailed work plans, and coordinate project teams involving multiple stakeholders.
Conduct analysis of company performance data, including statistical analysis and cost/benefit analysis.
Develop tools and resources for data and performance management.
Research and analyze industry data to support the development of strategy, policies and programs.
Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external use.
Prepare training materials as needed.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in statistical analysis and cost/benefit analysis preferred.
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to handle multiple projects.
Strong research skills.
Ability to work independently; must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines.
Ability to work in teams and to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for internal and external audiences.
Knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues.
Knowledge of sustainable operations.
Knowledge and understanding of corporate policies, procedures and business practices preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science or related field, required. Master’s degree preferred.
Project management experience required; direct experience working on sustainable operations preferred.
Knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues required.
Proficiency in Excel and statistical software required.
