New York Power Authority Shared Services Director in White Plains, New York

The Shared Services Director works with the VP of Enterprise Shared Service to streamline and ensure seamless delivery of employee services and activities across: Aviation, Vehicle Support Services, Corporate Travel Planning, Reprographics Services, Mail Center, Corporate Real Estate and Process Excellence.


  • Assist the Vice President, Enterprise Shared Services, with supporting and optimizing activities across all groups (Aviation, Vehicle Support Services, Corporate Travel Planning, Reprographics Services, Mail Center, Corporate Real Estate, and Process Excellence.)

  • Performs business analysis using various techniques, e.g., statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining.

  • Identify, collect, and analyze data to create metrics and prepare presentations and reports.

  • Work with cost center owners on overall consolidation of the yearly budget for the business unit Human Resources & Administration (Departments included in overall budget: Human Resources, Enterprise Shared Services, Corporate Communications, Strategic Supply Management).

  • Responsible for working with key leaders in the coordination of the Business Continuity Plans for the overall HR&A Business Unit to minimize disruption of mission-critical business operations.

  • Organize and coordinate office administration and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and opportunities for continuous improvements.

  • Lead and manage cross-functional projects to improve process, automation, and standardization.

  • Design presentations, generate reports, and present to leadership and staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong program, project, and change management skills.

  • Solid presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, quantify, interpret, and report statistical data for presentations to make recommendations that support business strategy.

  • Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, and financial analysis.

  • Ability to gather data from multiple sources to synthesize the data to tell a story.

  • Ability to compile data based on past and current years to prepare budget and to justify funds requested.

  • Excellent organizational, communication and project management skills. Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery on commitments - excellent organizational skills with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in advanced technologies of Office 365, including SharePoint and creating Excel pivot tables, v-lookups, macros, advanced charting functions. Experience with Tableau preferred.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Experience with database management systems, data collection and trending and analysis, preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible project support / analytic experience (with a focus on supporting projects, budget preparation, monitoring and reconciliation and report preparation).

  • Lean, Six Sigma and Agile experience preferred.

  • Experience in management consulting preferred.
