Senior Director Product Development & Data Integration
The Senior Director Product & Solutions Development & Data Integration is responsible for all business unit technology product development, solutions development data integration and customer experience to support NYPA’s transformation to digital utility. In this role, he/she will ensure agile product development and configuration for all strategic platforms including; NY Energy Management C3IOT Marketplace , GE Asset Performance Management, Integrated Smart Operations Center (ISOC), etc. The primary function is to ensure that business and I.T. stakeholders are aligned in achieving desired outcomes for Digital Utility and NYPA in general.
Oversee business unit technology product development on all strategic business platforms and product configuration, business solutions development utilizing the enterprise architecture, data acquisition and integration from all internal/external sources and third party partners, and user interface design to promote and maintain overall positive customer experience.
Enterprise Architecture and Engineering function to design and implement the NYPA Enterprise Architecture based on enterprise business requirements and IT strategies in close collaboration with NYPA EMC and other Senior Leaders.
Provide technology leadership and direction to business unit leaders including solutions and capability for new agile product development with differentiation
Provide leadership to all product development, platform and data integration functions and staff including career development and leadership succession.
Stay abreast of technology industry and market trends to set the strategic direction of the internal and external developed products.
Establish and oversee agile product development methodologies and smooth transition to DevOps process with all relevant Core Services functions
As part of the IT senior leadership team, facilitate the technology goverance to guide product development decision making with senior leadership
Liaise with the Digital Transformation Office and other enterprise functions (internal and external Centers of Excellence) to ensure proper business direction and solutions to realize the Digital Utility objectives.
Knowledge of agile and waterfall product development, DevOps and SDLC methodologies/framework
Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.
Advanced knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
Ensure creation and maintenance of critical documentation of all product development
Strong ability to analyze the current I.T. environment to detect critical deficiencies and be able to recommend solutions for improvement.
Ensure the development of an implementation plan for product development/integration based on business requirements and I.T. strategies.
Balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. Advanced technical degree of MBA is a plus, but not required.
Fifteen (15) + years of experience in at least two I.T. disciplines (such as Product Development, Application/solution Development, Technical/Infrastructure architecture, Information/Data Architecture & Business Architecture) in a multitier environment.
A minimum of ten years of experience in business analysis or business strategic planning.
Familiarity with advanced information management practices.
Significant knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
Must have a practical understanding of “hands-on” development experience in various key cloud and data engineering technologies and emerging trends.
Must have a strong understanding of operational technology (OT), industry control systems, relevant technologies, their applications and how it interfaces with business systems.
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
