New York Power Authority Digital Project Manager in White Plains, New York


The Digital Workforce Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the Digital Workforce Portfolio to achieve the mandate of using technology to enhance employee decision making in the plant, field, and office. The Specialist will manage the delivery of products and solutions that will make up the Digital Workforce Portfolio. This role will be responsible for development and execution of deliverables related to end-to-end project management including deadlines, budgets, contracts, and activities across the Digital Workforce Portfolio. They will also serve as Business Product owners throughout the Lifecycle of the specific Products they are assigned.


  • Develop and plan resource allocation and distribution, including employees, equipment, and other resources.

  • Manage vendors and consultants. Additional matrix management of employees and/or contingent workers may be required on a per project basis.

  • Manage vendors working on Digital Workforce projects for conceptualizing, planning, designing, and implementing the Digital Workforce initiatives.

  • Manage a wide range of complex stakeholder relationships and maintain a deep understanding of the needs of stakeholders to ensure all activities deliver the greatest value.

  • Create change management materials, training plans and Communication for Digital Workforce Products and Projects working with the larger team.

  • Monitor O&M and Capital spend to ensure planned resources are available to meet department goals.

  • Escalate cost control issues to ensure project variance is within desired limits.

  • Build the brand internally and externally by presenting updates to Executive Management, at company All-Hands and other events, as well as promote the Digital Workforce ethos at public-facing conferences.

  • Work cross-functionally across multiple departments and locations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise and understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.

  • Ability to analyse the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and be able to recommend solutions for improvement.

  • Ability to gather technical, functional, and user requirements for future project initiation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of industrial/power plant working culture; ability to shape change management approach to account for unique cultural particularities.

  • Ability to effectively communicate/collaborate with technology experts and subject matter experts.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to drive innovation and manage project execution.

  • Technology savvy with excellent written and presentation skills.

  • Invested in customer success and driven to continuously improve experience for the end user.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, or similar studies (4-year degree).

  • 4+ years of experience in industrial environments - heavy industries like utility, manufacturing, telecom etc. preferred.

  • Experience working in a Union environment preferred.

  • PMP certification preferred.

  • Agile certification preferred (CSM, CSPO, SAFe etc.)

Physical Requirements

  • Approximately 30% travel primarily within NY State, post-COVID, as dictated by project needs.Valid NYS Driver’s License

  • Ability to travel on demand to NYPA project sites to conduct onsite evaluations, vendor coordination, customer support, training, and change management.
