New York Power Authority Change Management Director in White Plains, New York
The Change Management Director is responsible for establishing a structured change methodology and ensuring that it is integrated into all initiatives and major programs. He/she develops and delivers change management training/coaching to executives, management and project teams. Change Management Director creates and manages enterprise level change communications and identifies and mitigates resistance to change.
Direct the coordination of change efforts across NYPA, ensuring that a common vision is articulated, communicated and continually reinforced. Ensure that change efforts and communications are aligned with this vision.
Drive the awareness and adoption of effective change management principles at all levels of NYPA.
Introduce a consistent, best practice change methodology and toolkit and ensure that they are utilized for change efforts across NYPA.
Ensure the realization of Enterprise Agility by effectively guiding the organization through the Agile/Lean transformation.
Create and coordinate a coalition of those driving transformational programs, such as the Strategic Initiative owners, the Digital Transformation Office, Enterprise Portfolio Management, HR Organizational Development, Knowledge Management and others to ensure organizational transformation is addressed broadly and holistically.
Develop and maintain an inventory of change across the enterprise and ensure that change efforts are coordinated and balanced across programs and business units; manage the change portfolio.
Assume the lead of enterprise-wide change management activities.
Engage and support senior leaders on their role in change management.
Coach managers and supervisors in change management.
Consult and coach project teams on change management.
Guide the design, development, delivery and management of change communications.
Facilitate communication of the strategy to inform and engage staff and maintain support for change.
Foster an enterprise perspective in the pursuit of the strategic plan.
Identify the impact the strategy and major programs will have on the organization and its employees and ensure that the impact of change is explicitly managed at all levels with risk mitigation tactics for significant change.
Ensure that change communications, coaching and training plans are created and executed for all transformational projects and programs.
Maintain collaboration with key support functions including Corporate Communications, IT, Budgets, Strategic Supply Management, Internal Audit, Compliance, and others.
Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.

Excellent quantitative/qualitative skills plus the ability to present and communicate ideas and complex material effectively both to small groups and large audiences.
Strong program management and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner to produce accurate, well-documented work products with strict attention to detail and necessary follow through.
Proficient in utilizing technology effectively. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required. Visio, Tableau and survey software skills highly desirable.
Experience managing the compilation of complex data including the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from data sets.
Understanding of NYPA policies and procedures.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors’ degree in business, organizational or industrial psychology or related field.
Graduate level degree in relevant field strongly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in designing and leading enterprise-wide Change Management, preferably in the energy/utility or government. Experience must include significant work with senior leadership on change management.
Experience designing and executing enterprise level communication campaigns support of change.
Familiarity with Agile and Lean is desirable.
Minimum of 7 years of experience with enterprise-level coordination of programs. Experience working in or with utilities and/or governmental entities is preferred.
Minimum 7 years of management experience.
- Approximately 15% travel primarily within NY State, some out of state travel
