Summary

The Strategic Operations team leads the continual improvement and future expansion of the Asset Management system to ensure that the most modern industry solutions are leveraged to align with NYPA's VISION2030 priorities. Asset management paves the way for increased benefits to customers by providing New York with market-leading technologies, alignment to cutting edge asset performance practices, near-real-time access to information and predictive analysis, improved outage management, overall reduced electrical losses, and increased system efficiency.

The Asset Analyst performs a pivotal role in NYPA’s asset management journey by delivering operational, financial, and strategic benefits through implementation of various process improvements in collaboration with multiple cross-disciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance and alignment of Asset Management System (“AMS”) with ISO55001standard and support best-in-class asset management practices.

  • Assist with day-to-day coordination with vendors and contractors for supporting the continual improvement of AMS.

  • Support the management and implementation of elements of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (“SAMP”).

  • Coordinate with multiple cross-functional teams to determine and implement prioritized business improvement opportunities to meet Asset Management Objectives.

  • Identify, refresh and manage stakeholder’s expectations and performance objectives, adjust to changing priorities, and communicate multiple solutions.

  • Collaborate on AMS documentation updates, review and approval process, timelines, and troubleshoot issues with all stakeholders.

  • Excellent organizational, communication and project management skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.

  • Ability to plan, organize, manage time and deadlines, and execute large complex projects.

  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented, with ability to apply project management skills to build relationships with technical and business stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop and facilitate engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills necessary for developing technical reports, writing critiques on technical documents, and preparing technical procedures.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, quantify and utilize information to make recommendations that support business choices.

  • Ability to lead a work stream and coordinate with other teams in parallel to maintain connectivity.

  • Ability to understand asset management systems and all interconnected components.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of 5 years in asset management or consulting experience.

  • Electric utility industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Up to 15% travel primarily within NY State.

  • Valid Driver’s License.
