Eversource Energy 2024 Engineering Development Program (EMA) in Westwood, Massachusetts

The Eversource Engineering Professional Development Program is designed to provide our Grade 2 Engineers with an opportunity for career development, training, and varied work experience. The program is 2 years in duration and provides everyone an opportunity to gain experience working in at least two different engineering areas. The program will start in June 2024.

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office. Some field work may be required.

Rate of Pay: Grade 2 $43.86

Primary Assignment Areas:

Substation Design Engineering : team works on improving the safe and reliable design and operation of the electrical transmission and distribution system. B.S. Electrical Engineering

Protection & Control Engineering : team is responsible for the design and operation of the devices and systems used to detect abnormal system conditions, such as electrical faults, and take automatic or supervisory control actions to isolate, mitigate, and restore the Transmission and Distribution system. B.S. Electrical Engineering

Individuals with a focus in electric power systems engineering preferred.

Telecommunication Engineering: team leads the Company efforts in strategically determining networks solutions for essential voice and data services required to operate and manage the Electric and Gas Transmission and Distribution Systems including Information Technology Systems. B.S. Electrical Engineering

Transmission Line Engineering : team is responsible for the design and engineering support for the construction, maintenance, and operation of Overhead and Underground Transmission Lines on the Eversource Transmission System. BS in Civil Engineering

Engineers will receive business area briefings and technical training to prepare them for a successful career at the largest New England electric utility.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Requires a BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering
  • Individuals with a focus in electric power systems engineering preferred.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
