Become a Senior Advisor, Technology Engagement & Strategy at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be part of the Asset Strategy & Planning (ASP) organization and on the Grid Technology Innovation (GTI) team. You will be involved in continuing to advance SCE’s Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) project portfolio and ensuring that major state and federal investments are being fully leveraged to accelerate SCE’s clean energy vision.

The Senior Advisor, Technology Engagement & Strategy , will act as a key outward-facing representative of GTI and serve as a liaison to state and national partner organizations. You’ll also play a role in advancing GTI’s mission to utilize the power of knowledge and technology, to explore and drive what’s next for our evolving energy needs.

GTI influences the development of new technologies and leads the evaluation of how SCE integrates technologies in support of safety, reliability, affordability and clean energy objectives. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Lead the strategic development of SCE’s Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) project portfolio.

  • Work with the IIJA Project Management Office to manage project prioritization efforts, support the pre-award phase of potential funding opportunity applications and provide executive-level presentations/reports outlining the technical aspects of SCE’s portfolio.

  • Develop and manage the external engagement strategy for Grid Technology Innovation and regularly report progress and outcomes.

  • Support key partner relationships and develop targeted stakeholder outreach plans.

  • Support internal efforts with Edison International’s (EIX) Growth and Innovation team, ensuring we provide subject matter experts to interact with startups and assess the business potential and technical viability of their applications; attend regular meetings with EIX and provide updates to the GTI Senior Leadership Team.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


The essentials

  • Ten or more years of combined experience in technical, strategy, external engagement, and/or product/project innovation work.

  • Experience implementing large scale, strategic company-wide initiatives with high impact to an organization.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, technology, business, or a related discipline.

  • Knowledge of key issues affecting the company: renewable energy, transportation and building electrification, distributed generation, rates and energy pricing and grid modernization.

  • Experience with major federal investments (e.g., IIJA or American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

  • An ability to operate as an effective tactical project manager as well as strategic thinker.

  • Being comfortable in an unstructured work environment and able to cut through uncertainty to proactively move ideas forward.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Strategic, resilient, engaging with people and a natural self-starter.

  • A passion for understanding new technologies and the ability to effectively communicate those technologies with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
