Become a Quality Control Inspection, Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. The successful candidate will provide oversight activities related to the Quality Control (QC) inspection programs to include but not be limited to; Distribution Construction Inspections, Overhead Transmission Construction Inspections, Underground Detailed Inspections, and Enhanced Overhead Inspections of Distribution / Transmission circuits. Conduct and document final inspections and/or assessments to assure compliance with Southern California Edison (SCE) Construction Standards and Regulatory requirements to include but not limited to CPUC, GO 95, GO 128, and GO 165; and verify that the construction and design requirements have been achieved by performance of independent inspections.

Perform independent and/or team assessments of work performed to assure results obtained by peers are valid.
Provide feedback and recommendations during the QC peer review and checkpoint process.
Provide program oversight by Identifying program strengths and weaknesses.
Develop consistent inspection/assessment methodologies and techniques to assure consistent program implementation and compliance to construction and regulatory standards.
Identify, recommend and implement process improvement opportunities/enhancements.
When non-conformances /discrepancies are identified, provide recommendations and analysis (as applicable), to the responsible vendor and SCE departments.
Operate unique measurement equipment and input findings into the program software and verifying data validity.
Know the latest QC processes by participating in technical, safety, and program development training
Qualifications
The essentials
Seven years’ of overall experience with Overhead and Underground maintenance and construction of Utility Industry Electrical systems.
Experience as a Journeyman Lineman.
Valid Driver’s License.
The preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or similar subject area.
Experience working with overhead design standards such as GO 95 and construction principles.
Experience with Underground Detailed Inspections (UDI), intrusive pole testing, pole replacement, and the general rules and objectives of overhead / underground construction and maintenance.
Experience with SCE easements, rights-of-way, prescriptive rights and the rights check process.
Experience in the use of the CMS field tool.
Experience with QC inspection and testing techniques of electrical distribution systems.
Experience with Transmission & Distribution electrical overhead line construction and maintenance programs, standards, regulations, field policies, and CPUC G.O 95, 128, and 165 and the related operations & maintenance manuals.
Broad knowledge and understanding of electrical, mechanical, and/or civil construction industry standards and field policies that specify and govern quality control programs.
Knowledge of and experience with Quality Control / Quality Assurance principles and practice as applied to field observations, field assessment, and record of completed work.
Experience crafting reports, providing analysis, and communicating conclusions relative to quality control.
Proficient with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as the Internet and Email.
Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to improve customer happiness and efficiency, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and implement business plans, manage
information, and provide outstanding service to internal and external customers.
Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay ahead of relevant technology and innovation.

This position’s work mode is on-site . The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
