In this job, you will be responsible for the field activities Oversight of Quality Control Inspectors by providing direction and support, assessing, and assigning the workload and performance of the employees, mentoring, and providing training and development to employees. The QC Field Advisor will be accountable for the successful execution of the department’s QC programs goals by effectively leading, supporting and monitoring resources.

  • Provides leadership and oversight to ensure work is planned, scheduled, and executed in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Review inspection results to ensure/improve work performance quality.

  • Facilitates monthly peer review of inspection results, identify trends, methods for improvement, and field questions from employees related to all QC inspection programs.

  • Partner with the QC Operations & oversight Managers to develop, implement, and manage quality control programs with major impacts to T&D and the entire Company.

  • Assists management in development and monitoring of quality requirements for contractors and SCE crews.

  • Provides management recommendations for process improvement (contract & SCE) and assists management in the development of performance metrics to improve construction & inspection quality and effectiveness.

  • Using computers to perform administrative duties, such as record-keeping, scope assignments, reports, tracking tools and equipment, and ensuring the completion of employee mandatory training and qualifications.

  • Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.

  • Supporting and monitoring the implementation of new work processes and methods, technology, and automation (e.g.,proactive scheduling of design tasks), while meeting ongoing project demands.

  • Monitoring various reports to ensure accuracy and developing/revising business plans as appropriate.

  • Establishing and maintaining consistent work practices.

  • Perform field visits and safety observations.

  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.


The essentials

  • Seven years of experience in the design, operation and/or construction and maintenance of the Transmission/Distribution electrical system.

  • Two years of supervisory and/or team leadership experience.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

The preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Previous experience as a General Supervisor, or Field Supervisor.

  • Demonstrated experience with underground and overhead construction, maintenance and operation of the electrical transmission/distribution system and associated regulatory requirements, safety policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge and experience with SCE manuals, GO 95, 128, 165 and Accident Prevention Manual safety rules.

  • Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation. Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing activities, delegating, monitoring assignments, and holding employees accountable for results.

  • Ability to determine opportunities and provide communication on process improvement and solutions to management.

  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, iPad, and CMS.

  • Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.

  • Experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance related field.

  • Create and maintain a safety conscious work environment.

  • Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • Position will require 80% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory, overnight stays may be required.
