Become a Project Management Support, Specialist in the Grid Technology Portfolio Management Office (PMO) at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll play a key role in advancing technology innovation and integration capabilities necessary to enable SCE’s Pathway 2045 vision, technology roadmap, and wildfire mitigation initiatives. This includes maintaining/updating PMO tools and processes, analyzing data, and supporting emerging technology implementation and acquisition project managers with day-to-day scope, schedule, and budget management of new technology demonstration and evaluation projects.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Support emerging technology implementation and acquisition project managers with day-to-day scope, schedule, and budget management of new technology demonstration and evaluation projects.

  • Maintain cross-functional, integrated project schedules. Coordinate with IT schedulers to make schedule updates and communicate impacts of proposed changes to project teams.

  • Assist with project monthly financial reconciliation, budget analyses, and cost control processes.

  • Maintain PMO tools and processes to facilitate departmental work such as records management, project communications, invoice processing, etc.

  • Process invoices. Prepare and submit purchase requisitions. Prepare purchase order and change request documentation.

  • Set-up project and program meetings, coordinate agendas and presentation materials, take meeting minutes, and follow up on required actions.

  • Prepare presentations, with input from others, to socialize projects and seek decisions from governance forums.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Two (2) years of project management support experience.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience working in a PMO.

  • Experience working with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project to develop, manage and update project schedules.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and using SharePoint or other collaborative software tools such as MS Teams, Slack, or Google.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word (e.g., develop table of contents, create templates, maintain headers/footers, track changes, etc.), Excel (e.g., vlookups, pivot tables, charts, graphs, formulas, etc.), PowerPoint (e.g., develop slides, create templates, format slides, write content, etc.).

  • Experience with MS Excel macros, custom equations, database queries.

  • Experience developing and maintaining business intelligence reports using PowerBI.

  • Electric utility industry experience.

  • Experience using SAP.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid.  The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees arerequired to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
