About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.
The CS Re-Platform is a multi-year initiative where SCE decommissions a significant portion of the legacy system by implementing a replacement SAP Customer Relationship & Billing (CR&B) solution. The Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Process SME will primarily be responsible for supporting activities for CS Re-Platform in the Integration & Organizational Readiness streams of work. The CS Re-Platform program will require significant planning, coordination, integration, alignment, and readiness efforts over several years. This position will offer subject matter expertise to support CS Re-Platform representing T&D with special emphasis on business readiness activities. This position will represent T&D in developing as-is and to-be process mapping, business requirement development and review, supporting internal business process re-designs and implementing internal business processes. This position will be integral by leveraging the subject matter expertise knowledge of T&D to ensure business readiness for the project lifecycle and will monitor the effectiveness of the project lifecycle. Will be responsible for the learning and development of all program resource dependencies to help prepare the organization for the solution. Design and delivery of training; Monitoring overall program health and readiness, including establishing measures to ensure absorption of change.
Providing analysis, coordination, process reviews and process development, and by creating detailed deliverables as needed for various initiatives.
Attend CS Re-Platform meetings and workshops to provide subject matter expertise on assigned business processes by participating in business process development, Use-case development and/or review, business requirement development and/or review, data and document requests and other responsibilities as required to support the program.
Works with key stakeholders to develop new back-end processes, procedures, policies and guidelines to reduce operating costs, streamline operations and improve the customer experience.
Conduct research, analyze findings, and recommend actions to ensure project success or mitigate risks.
Provide timely updates, complete action items and deliverables in a timely manner, contribute to and complete pre and post workshop related activities.
Participate in user acceptance testing, triage, business readiness activities including refresher training and post implementation SME support. Serves as primary liaison between project and business area (department, divisions, etc.)
Provide analytical support on the implementation of process improvement efforts to align internal T&D processes to “to-be” business processes.
Support the identification of process ownership.
Tracks, monitors and reports on critical project risks, action items, issues and decisions for the various CSRP work streams, impacting the various T&D organizations.
In partnership with change management services as appropriate, support stakeholder analyses, and evaluate extent and impact of changes due to CS Re-Platform, strategic initiatives, and organizational transformation.
Five or more years of experience working in an Analyst role.
Four or more years of experience performing detailed analysis, querying, investigating and resolving problems, drawing conclusions from complex data and information, and presenting results to management and key stakeholders.
One or more years of experience with executing business readiness activities in preparation for large process or system implementations.
Two years of experience developing, gathering, writing, and interpreting business requirements.
Experience preparing and making presentations to variousmanagement levels.
Two or more years of Utility Industry experience working with Transmission & Distribution processes.
Two or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such asVLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.
Resolves problems directly where possible and acts as an escalation point where warranted to ensure problem resolution.
Two or more years of experience using SAP and CSS.
Project management experience or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or other Project Management certification is a big plus.
Experience providing guidance to other analysts on analytical projects.
