Position Specific Description

FPL Energy Services (FPLES), a subsidiary of FPL and NextEra Energy, has an immediate opening for a Manager of Learning & Development to join their team. As the Manager of Learning and Development (L&D), you will work collaboratively across diverse work groups and business lines to design and deliver targeted employee learning and development solutions aligned with business growth objectives and strategic areas of focus. You will enable employee experiences through recruitment, retention and development working closely with our leadership team, Corporate L&D resources, HR, etc. This role will plan, oversee, and administer talent development programs utilizing a unique blend of solutions including technology and other innovative learning platforms while leveraging existing NextEra Energy resources and outside professional tools and resources. You will help build leadership capabilities, develop commercial skills, strengthen culture and communications across FPLES. You will lead all aspects of change management, helping our organization adopt and live the change management concepts so they are second nature and part of our values. This role is a key partner to business unit leadership, working across the entire Business Unit.

A Master's degree in Business Administration, HR, Organizational Development, or Learning Development is strongly preferred. Strong communication, leadership, employee engagement coupled with a customer-centric mindset will be key attributes for success in this role.

This role may report out of the West Palm Beach or Miami office.

Job Overview

The leader in this role sets the strategic direction for learning and development initiatives for business unit and functional groups through assessing the learning, development and operational improvement needs.Employees lead efforts to identify, design and deliver targeted learning and development solutions that support critical business unit initiatives. This positions designs employee development programs using a blend of delivery methods.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partners with business unit leadership to help identify performance gaps and develop solutions to improve performance and buildcommitment to learning solutions

  • Assesses learning and development needs and plans business unit training initiatives

  • Manages all aspects of the training lifecycleincluding supervision of ongoing training programs

  • Develops training, talent development programs and provides training consultation to stakeholders

  • Measures training program effectiveness to improve content quality and deployment

  • Identifies, promotes and implements best practices in training and development

  • Manages marketing and communications for learning and talent development programs

  • Leads projects to advance talent and leadership development, succession planning and business unit performance

  • Manages training-related budgets and resources

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience: 8+ years

  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Master's - Business Administration

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
