Southern Nuclear, headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's six nuclear reactors at three locations in Georgia and Alabama: two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. In addition, construction of two new reactors at our Plant Vogtle location is underway. Summary of Position Duties:

This position reports to a Maintenance Supervisor of Contracts. This position provides oversight, support and performance in the area of project implementation. Duties required of the Site Project Lead include:

• Assist in developing implementation scope, schedule, and budget during project planning.

• Provide constructability input, assumptions, and risks associated with each alternative considered. Support field walkdowns to evaluate proposed layouts for constructability and interferences.

• Manage installation/implementation to ensure compliance with the design intent, applicable codes and other regulatory considerations and coordinate resolution of technical issues that arise.

• Ensuring personnel safety and Safety First during project implementation.

• Developing safety process documentation (safety plans and risk register) for the project.

• Developing oversight plan for assigned projects.

• Accountable for meeting the approved project schedule.

• Maintaining scope control.

• Ensuring affected plant group (operations, maintenance, engineering, etc.) needs are considered in the project scope.

• Performing operational risk assessment/mitigation for the project.

• Obtaining and managing resources required for testing/startup support.

• Ensuring stakeholders are trained prior to project turnover for operation.

• Providing completion/closeout punch list input.

• Reviewing design for stakeholder requirements/conflicts.

• Effectively communicating with management, stakeholders and project team.

• Optimizing project equipment and spare parts procurement.

• Coordinating stakeholder (operation, maintenance, engineering, etc.) responsibilities prior to project completion.

• Possess leadership skills to ensure plant requests are solved quickly.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with plant and corporate personnel.

• This position will require travel (up to 25%).

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university or a related technical degree is desired. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar position and/or a combination of applicable experience and education may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

• An advanced engineering degree, MBA, PE license, Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certified Project Management Professional (PMP) will be an advantage.

Job Experience Requirements and Desires:

• Demonstrated leadership experience (required) Strong background in civil, mechanical, electrical and/or I&C in power generation and/or other applicable environment. (required)

• Demonstrated project management and/or construction management skill set with proven project implementation (required)

• Excellent oral and written communications skills (required)

• Knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform cost/benefit analysis (required)

• Selected candidate must live within one hour of the SNC Emergency Operations Facility for emergency response availability

• Knowledge and demonstrated ability to write and execute contracts

• Previous nuclear power plant experience (desired)

• Experience managing capital projects (desired)

• Experience managing contractors in the execution of work (desired)

• Supervisory experience (desired)
