Exelon’s Reputation Strategy & Insights department is seeking an enthusiastic college student or graduate student to support research-based strategic communication initiatives in reputation, branding, employee engagement, and public affairs. We are looking for candidates that are currently pursuing a degree in communications, business, marketing, or public policy. The ideal candidate will possess basic knowledge of public polling or market research as well as have a point of view on reputation strategy in today’s corporate environment. The work will focus primarily in the company’s development of Exelon’s Reputation Intelligence Center (“eric”) as well as InTouch, Exelon’s employee research platform. As these initiatives are critical the evolution of the Communications function, all candidates should have excellent communication skills, have an above average attention to detail, and be a self-starter with a positive attitude. This position will run from June to through August, and will be based out of downtown Washington DC. Competitive compensation; 40 hours per week. Relocation will not be provided. Responsibilities include: *Editing reports and other written communication *Assist in the production of reports; creating tables, charts and slides in MS Office suite *Assist with creating or reviewing material to facilitate the ongoing development of eric *Assist with the management and use of InTouch to conduct primary opinion research among employees *Assist staff with special projects and related research, as necessary *Coordinate with other Exelon departments, including Communications, Corporate Strategy, and Risk on materials development
Qualifications Required experience:
*Excellent organizational skills *A “numbers” person with advanced critical thinking, analysis and statistical skills *Currently pursuing an undergraduate (rising junior or senior) or graduate degree in communications, business, marketing, public policy, political science or related field. *Coursework in Statistics and familiarity with data management and analysis software (e.g. SPSS, R) *Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint *Interest in energy-related issues or the electricity and gas utility industry *Ability to multi-task and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines, and at times, under limited direction
