Primary Purpose
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
As an Experience Designer 1, you are responsible for creating intuitive, engaging, and effective experiences that meet user needs and align with business objectives. You will help shape the future of Exelon by contributing to the design of a wide range of digital technology, process, or service solutions. This role involves conducting user research, designing wireframes and prototypes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a human-centered approach is used to produce high-quality designs across platforms and touchpoints for our customers and workforce. Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Contribute to the design and definition of experiences by supporting user research needs and end-to-end design process to enable project or product delivery to drive outcomes. Execute high-quality design experience deliverables that meet or exceed standards. (35%)
Create visually appealing designs that are aligned with brand guidelines, design systems, and common interaction patterns. Communicate concepts through prototypes and iterate on designs based on user insights using prototyping software. Build design prototypes aligned to user journeys and reflect industry best practices. Follow guidance to contribute to service design initiatives under supervision. (20%)
Collaborate with designers, researchers, clients, project managers, product managers, end users, and software engineers to ensure experiences clearly support business and user goals. (20%)
Support design workshop facilitation, critical thinking, problem solving, curiosity, ideation, innovation, and imagination at a practitioner level for successful problem-solving from ideation to actualization. (15%)
Organize and give basic formal presentations to a group of peers in areas of specialty or stakeholders on occasion. (10%)

Depth of Supervisory Duties & Autonomy
Individual Contributor and member of a project team reporting to a Design Manager and/or Design Principal working under more senior Designers and Design Leads.
Use basic knowledge and understanding of experience design principles and methods. Follow guidance to contribute to projects under supervision.
Has training, direct exposure, light experience, or past experience in coaching and counseling others. Has coached and/or trained co-workers on a project team on a technical or functional subject.
Establishes realistic tasks and activities for a small, low risk project or task. Demonstrates ability to identify and break work down into discrete and measurable tasks, estimate the time required to complete those tasks, and organize work for assignments and responsibilities. Manages time effectively and efficiently.
Impact on Organization: Support the creation of impactful solutions that solve customer problems and move business metrics including Tier 1 key performance indicators (KPIs) in support of project leadership.
Demonstrate ability to make basic decisions impacting areas of direct responsibility and analyzing situations systematically to determine causes and consequences.
Support investment-level innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems.
Advocate of human-centered design principles at the investment level, advocating for the needs of users throughout the product development process and ensuring that products deliver exceptional user experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
All Experience Designers must come equipped with the following skills/experience: Bachelor's degree (User Experience, Design, Human Computer Interaction, Information Science, Human-Centered Computing, or Related Field of Study) and 2-5 years of relevant UX Design experience or minimum of 6-9 years relevant experience without degree.
Demonstrate understanding of human-centered design principles and methodologies, with experience in conducting user interviews and usability testing.
Proficiency in design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.
Demonstrates basic understanding of experience design principles, methodologies, and tools.
Light experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with basic elements of Design Thinking principles and methodologies of the approach.
Demonstrates a basic understanding of digital accessibility concepts and principles. Ability to adhere to standards and guidelines that ensure digital products, services, and content are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to communicate design concepts and recommendations.
Experience with wireframing and prototyping solutions for interactive experiences.
Demonstrates ability to support and participate in effective user research using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(For content-focused role) Demonstrate a basic understanding of content design principles and techniques. Ability to create content for specific platforms or channels adhering to established best practices, procedures, guidelines and methodologies within the work area.
(For non-content focused role) Demonstrate a basic understanding of content design principles and techniques. Ability to create content for specific platforms or channels adhering to established best practices, procedures, guidelines and methodologies within the work area.
Ability to learn the basic practices of Agile.
Demonstrate ability to work within design file structures and design systems.
Sufficient fundamental proficiency in Data Analytics practical applications.
Knowledge of Accessibility standards and procedures, i.e. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and can identify common accessibility issues in digital content.

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $78,400.00/Yr. – $107,800.00/Yr.
