Edison Electric Institute Director, State Energy & Regulatory Policy in Washington, District Of Columbia
The Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies, has an outstanding opportunity for a Director, State Energy & Regulatory Policy.
Reporting to the Vice President, External Affairs and the Senior Director, State Regulatory Policy, this position will serve as the second on key state regulatory policy issues. Will work collaboratively across External Affairs and Regulatory Affairs departments to develop policy materials (talking points, slides, position papers, etc.), regulatory objectives and advocacy strategies related to business model challenges, broadband, regulatory reform, rate reform, infrastructure investment, and the ability to integrate technologies. Will assist EEI members in state proceedings, work with key trade allies and stakeholders in collaboration with Vice President, Regulatory Affairs. These external stakeholders include NARUC, NASEO, NASUCA, ECOS, state legislators, attorneys general and governors. Identify, develop, and advocate industry issues, develop issue papers, and serve as a technical expert for External Affairs and serve in an alignment function between the two departments. This position has one direct report.
The successful applicant will have:
Eight or more years of relevant regulatory or utility industry experience.
A Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred (Masters, JD, etc.)
Exceptional interpersonal skills and technical knowledge of the industry.
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups to build consensus.
Strong writing skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize workload.
Experience providing direct supervision preferred.
