National Grid Assurance Lead in Warwick, United Kingdom

About the Role

Within this role, you will support the delivery of the System Operator’s (SO) overarching Key Controls and assurance strategies, ensuring that business controls are balanced against SO’s Risk appetite co-ordinating 1stand 2ndline assurance activities with 3rdline activities whilst maintaining SO’s external ISO certifications.

Key accountabilities include:

Supporting the identification, implementation and delivery of SO’s Assurance Strategy whilst ensuring SO’s Key Controls and Frameworks align with SO’s policy and Risk Appetite, providing the SO executive with an overview of the health of those Key Controls.

Through our Business Management Standards, provide gap analysis and plans for enabling SO to fulfil its Business Management Standard obligations on an ongoing basis.

Supporting business leads with action plans to ensure risk remediation is on track and complete in a timely manner escalating high/medium risks to accountable owners where timelines may be compromised, providing a “consultancy” service to those designing processes to ensure that key controls and 1stline assurance are embedded.

Identifying external and internal Assurance and Compliance best practice and set in place continuous improvement activities to advance SO’s Assurance and Compliance maturity.

About You

A degree level of education or the equivalent, or relevant experience, is essential. A Lead Auditor Qualification is desirable.

You will have demonstrable experience of providing high quality and sound professional assurance management across a large-scale function, with solid interpersonal skills giving the ability to communicate, influence and challenge across all disciplines and levels within the organisation, and a proven track record in developing effective relationships across the organisation.

Expert knowledge of Compliance and Reporting Frameworks, and of the Assurance Frameworks, ensuring coverage of the 1st, 2ndand 3rdLines of Defence, is required.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £43,000 - £54,000 – dependent on capability.
