We want to find a highly motivated, innovative, and experienced Talent Management and Development Trainer keen to join our fast-paced Strategy and Results Management team in Waltham, MA! (Candidates may also reside in either, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). Job Purpose
As a member of our IT Learning and Development team, you'll play an integral role in transforming the way our IT organization delivers value to its customers. You have a successful track record designing and developing a diverse array of learning materials to support classroom, virtual and self-directed eLearning. Your experience and expertise designing, conducting, and organizing training programs for our data domain will enhance employee performance by pivoting our teams to more modern approaches such as generative AI and computation data governance.
In collaboration with our Director of IT Learning & Development, various SME’s throughout IT, our Chief Data Office and end users, you'll help us to translate data knowledge into engaging learning materials for our rapidly growing community of users.
Your experience and aptitude working with multiple learning platforms, particularly Articulate/Rise 360 and Vyond, will enable you to rapidly draft scripts, presentations, storyboard e-Learning courses, instructor guides, job aids, maturity assessments and more.
As someone who collaborates naturally with others, and who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get the job done, you will stamp your mark on all aspects of our transformational journey. In short, you will play a key role ensuring National Grid achieves it goal of becoming an intelligent connect utility.
Although this is an individual contributor role, teams will naturally gravitate to you for guidance. As such, you'll affect significant change without direct authority over the individuals with whom you interact. You are pragmatic and have an innate ability to strike the balance between the need for process ‘Do it right’ versus the need to accelerate project delivery and not overburden teams with unnecessary administrative overhead.
What you'll do
Design and develop Data curriculum, learning materials, and performance support tools (including self-study, classroom, eLearning, etc.) classroom training, web-based, training videos, and virtual training design
Improve training development processes through proficient use of tools and software to standardize training materials throughout our global enterprise
Create training solutions that demonstrate an understanding of Data and Life-Long Learning principles and that employ current learning trends, including gamification and rich media (example: video) to enhance the learner experience
Participate in stakeholder, subject matter expert, and learner interviews that enable identification and development of relevant content in order to design curriculum that support our core methodologies for our end-learner community
Develop learner engagement strategies, and evaluation and implementation plans where needed
Collaborate with content developers, subject matter experts, and experienced National Grid Data professionals to support material development needs, as appropriate
Prepare participant materials and room set up (in-person or virtual) for data product design sessions
What you'll need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
5+ years proven experience in instructional design or development
Proven experience as a Training Developer
Exceptional professional communication and technical writing skills.
Knowledge/experience or the ability to learn evolving systems, such as assessment facilitation, need/task analysis, instructional design/development, and instructional evaluation.
It would be awesome if you had
Good working knowledge of the data domain including architecture, data science and data governance
Certified Performance and Learning Professional (CPLP) or similar industry certification

Salary
$107,000 - $126,000 a year
Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
