National Grid is hiring a Supervisor, Maps and Records for Massachusetts

This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

Responsible for the daily supervision and organization of employees, providing front line leadership for the collection and input of Massachusetts natural gas facilities into GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and other applications.

Key Accountabilities

  • Direct supervision of company and vendor personnel involved in the input and delivery of mapping data. Assuring a safe work culture which drives improved performance through coaching, mentoring, training, and overall development of the workforce is delivered daily.

  • Direct and assign bargaining unit personnel to process pertinent main, service, and other data for entry into company electronic mapping and database systems. Review performance metrics regularly with same staff.

  • Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant objectives and targets.

  • Maintain safety as highest priority by promoting our safety goals and procedures, which includes regular safety discussions, observation, and/or audits.

  • Ensure the highest value of work and services are produced thereby delivering that value to our ratepayers and regulators.

  • Generate, develop, and update necessary reports for the department. Other priorities as directed by the Manager.

  • Support National Grid during emergency conditions as needed/ directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a GIS or engineering discipline (GIS desired) or up to 2 years of related work experience in lieu of.

  • Previous experience supervising/supporting others preferred.

  • MARC training or equivalent preferred.

  • Knowledge of National Grid Geographic Information Systems and natural gas mapping processes preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history.

Salary

$86,000- $101,000 a year Salary commensurate with location and experience

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
