Reporting to the Director of Facilities Services this role is an exciting opportunity for someone to serve as the Sustainability subject matter expert for the Property Services organization. Must have strong sustainability industry knowledge, collaboration, organization, and communication skills. This position will develop and implement internal sustainability policies and initiatives and recommend bold ideas to assist the Property Services Organization to achieve sustainability goals and objectives.
.Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Develop, design, implement and measure sustainability programs and initiatives that align with and achieve stated business goals.
Develop and monitor Return On Investment / Return On Sustainability Investment (ROSI) business cases.
Monitor, analyze and report on existing initiatives.
Effectively communicate, industry studies, programs and internal initiatives in verbal and written form.
Collaborate with Departments across the organization to both implement sustainability programs and develop environmental & sustainability policy positions and communicate those positions.
Participate in and represent National Grid's Property Services organization at external business conferences.

Excellent writing skills and strong analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop hypotheses; structure research and gather information to test these hypotheses; and present persuasive, well-supported conclusions and recommendations.
Knowledge of energy and environmental/sustainability policies and issues.
Proven project management and delivery skills.
Strong facilitating and public speaking skills.
Strong Computer experience, specifically Power Point and Excel.
Ability to communicate and work well with people at all levels and across organizational boundaries.
Ability to use internal company Social Media to capture and chronical success stories and initiatives to the broader company.
Impeccable personal standards of commitment and integrity.
Experience in preparing policy papers preferred.
Experience in energy and electric and/or gas utility industries preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Policy (energy/environmental/sustainability)/Economics/Finance/Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of three to five years relevant work experience in this field.
Demonstrated ability to create and implement strategy with successful execution of complex, enterprise wide initiatives.
