Job Purpose

The Gas Leak Survey Senior Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the gas leakage surveys. This includes oversite of surveys using gas detection equipment in both business and non-business districts. The surveys cover the gas distribution pipeline, transmission pipeline patrols/surveys, Surveillances, cast iron pipe winter patrol, and other specialized surveys as necessary.

The main responsibilities of the Gas Leak Survey Senior Supervisor are to ensure the safety, reliability, security, and integrity of the gas distribution and transmission systems. This is achieved through daily supervision and organization of operations personnel, who are tasked with completing job assignments while adhering to Company, departmental, and Regulatory policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

Additionally, the Gas Leak Survey Senior Supervisor supervises both internal and contracted personnel to ensure that work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner within their area of responsibility. They also provide emergency response and supervision for personnel involved in a 24-hour, 7-day per week operation.

Our Team:

Is responsible for the safety, reliability, security, and integrity of the gas distribution system through the daily supervision and organization of operations personnel to complete job tasks while complying with Company and Regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Effectively Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner, including a supplemental contracted workforce. Ensure teams comply with safety standards, policies, and to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk.

  • Energetic team builder with experience developing and collaborating with teams of Leak Survey contractors and technicians.

  • Excellent facilitator able to translate strategy into actionable tactics that will deliver sustainable policies, processes and practices and communicate plans within all levels of the organization.

  • Build good working relationships with internal & external customers and manage the day-to-day relationships with them to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions within National Grid policies and processes.

  • Experience managing customer, regulatory relationships and demonstrates the ability to build an independent opinion of customer needs, problems and/or opportunities and design appropriate solutions.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Strong leadership, influencing, customer orientation and communication skills, providing the ability to promote team working and harmonious working between site staff, project teams and contractors.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree preferred or 5 or more years’ experience in Gas or Leak Survey Compliance, Gas Field Operations, CMS, or related field, with ability to read, interpret, and understand Codes, Regulations.

  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.

  • Proficient with Excel, Word applications including the Microsoft Office suite.

Salary - $115,000 - $135,000
