National Grid Senior Project Analyst in Waltham, Massachusetts

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Performance, will drive the performance of digital teams through:

  • Directing and coordinating the IT organisation (and wider National Grid) to deliver the services and support required for digital

  • Assisting in the IT to DT transition of current IT services to ensure they are fit for Digital

  • Monitoring and improving the performance of the Digital team through value-adding metrics and improvement interventions

  • Ensuring that each team and team member within Digital is growing, developing and performing at maximum capability and new team members come up to speed quickly.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage the budgeting cycles for all Digital Activities. Includes working with stakeholders to develop the multi-year budgets, liaising with the regional CIOs to ensure Digital’s needs are represented at the regional annual budgeting cycle, and ensuring that Digital is managing in-year budgets within forecast.

  • Develop and report relevant regional Digital KPIs. These will be used at QBR meetings, monthly KPI reports, and in the US will form part of the APP measure

  • Create and track performance metrics for the Digital teams. Use the metrics to communicate and improve the performance making improvement interventions when necessary

  • Aid directors in designing the operating model based on Digital strategic priorities and determine the right approach of developing the model

  • Aid directors in developing the on-boarding process to help ensure new starters (30 expected in next 6 months) are successfully embedded into the team quickly with responsibilities clearly agreed, robust induction plans in place with ongoing support.

  • Support the Digital Sprint teams in achieving IT approvals, including ARB, Sanctioning,Stage Gates.

  • Aid directors within digital and the various business unit in planning and executing on future organizational planning to facilitate National’s Grid transition to a digitally native organization

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
  • Ability to promote team effectiveness by soliciting input from team members, communicating expectations of the team and delegating responsibilities while providing support and structure to create cohesive, motivated, and empowered customer communications team.

  • Ability to actively build and maintain a network of relationships, outside normal business contacts, collaborating and coordination amongst a number of business and technical groups.

  • Ability to identify the key stakeholders in the organization and use that information and the informal organizational structure to effectively collaborate across all parts of the organization to get things done.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree level in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • A good knowledge of the business and IT strategy and drivers.

  • Understands National Grids policies, management structures and reporting procedures for all aspects of the Program’s environment. Demonstrate the Valued Business Partner capabilities and behaviours in all interactions with IS Colleagues, vendors and business stakeholders.

  • Understands the business change implications of digital transformation and can work with the business to facilitate a smooth transition to new ways of working

  • Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Able to solve problems with agility

  • Able to distill complex information into a consumable format for variety of audiences

  • Able to communicate effectively to senior stakeholders
