National Grid Senior Portfolio Analyst TGEP BU in Waltham, Massachusetts

_About the Position:_* *

Reporting to the Director of Business Planning & Performance within the Transmission, Generation and Energy Procurement Business Unit, this role provides analytical and organizational support to the TGEP BU by supporting the delivery of positive financial results, regulatory outcomes, operational performance, attainment of the capital investment plan, and positive stakeholder engagement for the electric transmission, electric generation, and wholesale natural gas businesses. This key role will be responsible for, among other things, monitoring, tracking, and reporting on TGEP BU compliance matters and providing analytical support and insight on business matters within the purview of Business Planning and Performance. Working with the TGEP BU leaders, this individual will need to understand the key business drivers that impact business unit strategy and performance, including financial, regulatory, operational, capital, customer, and stakeholder engagement.



_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_

  • Interface with key stakeholders on behalf of the TGEP BU to provide analytical support and insight to help deliver on:

o Process and performance based tracking and reporting

o Financial results consistent with defined targets and key performance indicators

o Operational performance consistent with the TGEP BU metrics and regulatory mandates·

  • Accountable for tracking the portfolio of metrics to support TGEP activities.

  • Support setting, tracking, and reporting of performance targets and key performance indicators, ensuring they drive improved performance.

  • Assist with the management of multiple initiatives directed toward TGEP BU performance and strategic objectives.

  • Support the development of comprehensive key performance indicators in support of strategic initiatives, business unit performance reviews, and other forums.

  • Assist the TGEP BU leaders in the overall delivery of BU performance and help to manage and coordinate across the matrixed support portions of the organization, including operations support, customer, network strategy, finance, regulatory, shared services, IS, procurement, government, media, employee communications, legal and HR leads on all business unit issues.

  • Analyze, monitor and track Service Level Agreement (SLA) and KPI performance, interfacing with business functions to ensure service levels are maintained and within budgeted guidelines and performance commitments.

  • Within the metric framework, compile, monitor, and manage all BU key performance indicators and their supporting actions across all parts of the company under continuous review andprovide advice and direction on the steps necessary to improve performance within the framework of established policies.

  • Develop and drive data analytics and performance reporting to ensure that regulatory requirements and internal business needs are met.

  • Support the process for performance reporting for the US executive board and other key reporting requirements by working collaboratively with business unit colleagues across the organization.

  • Cultivate successful working relationships with respective colleagues to ensure consistent operational performance support, especially in key areas such as finance, process, regulatory, policy, strategy, and information systems.

_Knowledge & Experience Required:_

  • Experience in establishing performance frameworks and metric reporting on progress to senior management.

  • Experience in strategy, risk identification, performance and reporting.

  • Financial background and acumen.

  • Strong process management experience.

  • Project management experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of electric and gas utility operations; transmission knowledge/experience a plus.

  • Excellent leadership, engagement, written, and oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills

  • Operational experience in one or more disciplines in an electric/gas utility.

  • Demonstrate the ability to influence others.

_Qualifications Required:_

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, economics or engineering with an advanced business degree preferred (MBA) and at least 3 years of business and/or supervisory experience.

  • Experience in performance management, reporting and working with key internal stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well across all company functions with staff from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience with dealing with senior executives and leaders throughout the organization.
