National Grid is seeking a Manager, Electric Portfolio Controls for our Waltham, MA location.

Job Purpose

Manager of a group responsible for tracking, reporting and forecasting process for $1B electric capital portfolio. Provides support for regulatory reporting and monthly Portfolio Calibration Meeting; forecast & budget variance analysis; runs process to progress efforts to meet Plant In Service regulatory targets; central point of contact for all electric direct capital portfolio reporting; collaborate with Finance to establish capital clearing rates.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain overall control and integrity of all direct financial reporting and forecasting data related to the electric capital portfolio performance.

  • Ensure monthly forecasting cadence and Portfolio Calibration Meeting process is followed.

  • Provides regulatory support

  • Support portfolio level analysis for senior leadership to help make financial and resourcing decisions.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Business Related discipline or equivalent analytical or project management experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience of managing in utility industry and demonstrates taking specific actions to enable the team to function efficiently and effectively.

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of regulatory issues affecting the industry. Demonstrates the ability to anticipate obstacles and think ahead about next steps in terms of reporting and maintaining constructive dialog.

  • Has the ability to manage the work of a technical/professional functional area/business unit and demonstrates taking specific actions to enable the team to function efficiently and effectively

  • Excellent proficiency in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access; Business Intelligence and/or Business Objects

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively.

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and planning skills with the proven ability to manage priorities and complex programs of significant scope and make fact based decisions

  • Experience with PowerPlan, SAP,

  • Experience with STORMS is a plus

  • This role requires driving. A license and a driving record that is in line with National Grid’s Safe Driver policy is required.
