Job Purpose
The Business Strategist role will require an excellent analytical mind with the ability to challenge the status quo, rethink current ways of working to create new value and communicate and influence at all levels. The role creates and manages the product's business case, drives value creation and influences the prioritization of product features based on business value. The role will also lead the change management activities required for product adoption.
Key Accountabilities
Working with the business units to create and refresh digital roadmaps, including:
The end-to-end review of business processes, including process “tear downs”
Understanding current frictions/problems and proposing solutions with high-level value benefits
Sequencing and prioritizing digital projects and defining funding requirements for each business unit
Running business ideation (Hack-a-Future) sessions
Building the detailed business case for each digital concept:
Understanding the value levers & product cost
Building out the holistic end-to-end business case
Communicating with product teams on the biggest value creation levers for the product:
Ensuring the product continues to create value as it develops
Maintaining the business case based on feedback from customers, engineers and other stakeholders
Communicating with the sprint team on how the product is evolving based on feedback from customers (product features) and engineers (technical capability)
Working with the business units to acquire domain expertise and helping navigate the business to unlock value
Understanding feedback from customers/users & quantifying the impact on the business case
Influencing the design of the product so it remains focused on the value creating levers
Designing experiments to further test the product
Ensuring the Product Owner is prioritizing the most value-creating features
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Project/change management experience in leading large and complex programs of activity.
Advanced communication skills, facilitation experience and ability to mentor, coach and change others’ behaviors.
Excellent experience of senior stakeholder management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), or relevant experience
Deep expertise in business case modeling
Experience with Design Thinking and process re-engineering
Understands business value levers, and can take high-level business concepts and turn them into tangible value cases
Able to articulate product and design needs
Understands the business change implications of digital transformation and can work with the business to facilitate a smooth transition to new ways of working
Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Able to solve problems with agility
Able to distill complex information into a consumable format for variety of audiences
Able to communicate effectively to senior stakeholders
