About the Graduate Development Program

National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) (https://careers.nationalgridus.com/graduate-development-program) is an in-depth training and development program for high achieving recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates are the future of National Grid. Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth Orientation which gives you exposure to all part of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, Graduates begin working in their hired position and take part ongoing development activities through your first year including monthly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Capstone Project at the completion of your first year with National Grid.

National Grid is aiming for an in-person GDP experience for Summer 2022. However, we will continue to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 and will shift to a virtual program if necessary, in order to honor our commitment to our young talent pipeline.

Information Technology Graduate Rotations

IT & Digital seeks to attract and develop high potential recruits, to enable the clean energy transition for all, deliver for our customers efficiently and ensure we maintain resilient, secure and compliant technology solutions. Our student programs help you develop technical and leadership skills and build core competencies that will shape the future of how National Grid leverages technology. This position gives you the opportunity to participate in our IT Graduate Development Rotational Program, an 18-month experience consisting of three 6-month rotations in varying IT departments. Your first rotation will be in the role outlined below and you will return to this role following two broadening 6-month rotations where your knowledge of IT at National Grid will be expanded.

Job Purpose

The Associate Analyst, Security Services will ensure that security requirements are identified and security services are integrated into project solutions to achieve secure business outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Represent many areas of security, describing in business terms the impact of security policies, IT controls, technology standards and architecture on the business.

  • Provide security direction to the project(s) based on the business requirements.

  • Able to interpret high level business requirements and communicate them to technical security engineers; conversely, they should be able to articulate technical issues to a non-technical business audience.

  • Provide baseline security requirements and to ensure that the delivered solution is fit for purpose and effective when transitioned in to service.

  • Identify security services to be integrated into the overall solution and work with the security product teams to ensure implementation of the services.

  • Review vulnerability reports and work with project teams to remediate the prioritized vulnerabilities based on risk.

  • Gather evidence that the services have been integrated and document how each baseline security requirement has been met.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Strong writing and presentation skills to communicate findings and recommendations to different audiences and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Privacy is preferred

  • Graduated between May 2021 and June 2022

  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program May 31, 2022 or June 27, 2022

  • Valid US driver’s license

  • Proven leadership experience

  • Demonstrated effective communication, listening, and project management skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure a plus

  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
