National Grid is hiring a Manager of Data Quality Management in our Waltham, MA location.

Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the Director, Data, this role will interact with the data owners, data stewards and stakeholders across the organization. The role will be managing key data quality, data remediation and data conversion activities across the US Gas Business Unit and maintaining compliance to our BMS Data Management principles and standards

Key Accountabilities

  • You will support in defining and driving the Data Strategy across the US gas businesses, focusing on providing data quality management services to gas business unit. Working with stakeholders to pro-actively ensure we “do the right things” regarding data standards, quality, technology and capabilities.

  • Responsible for effective collaboration and communications between GBU, GBE program and IT. Ensure effective management of data which is essential to the delivery of safe, seamless and efficient services to our standards

  • Lead the development, implementation and stabilization of Data Quality, Data Conversion and Remediation activities across GBE and GBU

  • Management of Data Quality team, their work activities, priorities, performance and development

  • Work with the Data owners, Stewards, Data Architects, Value Stream Directors, Data Governance, IT, and GBU stakeholders to build, manage and extend Data Quality scorecards, Data Remediation and Conversion activities across Gas Business Unit

  • Collaborate with the Data Governance on the IT Gas Business Unit investment plan to conducting the evaluation of the investment from a data quality feasibility

  • Create and maintain Data Conversion requirements for the GBU

  • Profile and perform data analysis to pro-actively derive insights and propose informed decisions

  • Manage and support data validation activities after mocks

  • Create, maintain and enhance Data Quality Scorecards

  • Maintain Data Remediation Tracker and manage timely delivery of remediation activities

  • Create and maintain Data Remediation Paybook

  • Facilitate and lead Data Remediation meetings

  • Participate in ongoing scope lock and refinement meetings and assess impact to Data Conversions and Remediations

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


  • Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, however a master is preferred

  • At least 10 years of Work Experience related to data quality, analysis, information technology or with 5 years and a Master degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math

  • Experience conducting structured business analysis and generating well-defined requirements

  • Experience employing of contemporary data management and maturity assessment frameworks

  • Proficiency in data classification for security, usage, protection, and enterprise communication

  • Self-aware individual who can effectively manage stakeholders and build relationships across all levels and functions

  • Disciplined individual able to prioritize, deliver and delegate

  • Effective communicator able to communicate at all levels within the organization
