National Grid Consulting Engineer, Gas Planning and Design Engineering in Waltham, Massachusetts
National Grid is hiring a Consulting Engineer for our Gas Planning and Design Engineering department in Waltham, MA.

The Consulting Engineer provides technical engineering design review and consulting in all areas of gas assets US wide. They represent National Grid gas engineering in professional engineering organizations, identify and implement best engineering design practices US wide and develop and deliver relevant gas engineering technical trainings qualifying for professional development hours.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Accountable that all designs reviewed are of appropriate quality and level of detail. Designs must meet all engineering best practices and be PE stamped by the PE manager or by the assigned Engineering Consultant.
The Engineering Consultant specifically is an engineer and an individual contributor that utilizes their PE in the role to certify drawings or a specific discipline of an entire engineered design package. Typically required for:
a) the most complex work where specialty design capabilities and experience are required.
b) To support critical workloads that require PE certification
Bachelor of Science degree in an ABET accredited Engineering program required
Master of Science in Engineering preferred
10+ years of professional engineering experience required
Professional Engineer License required, MA, RI, NY preferred
5+ years of utility engineering experience preferred
Valid driver’s license required
