New Jersey Resources is seeking a Corporate Accounting Analyst to oversee the Company’s financial statement consolidation process, including preparation of eliminating journal entries and consolidating financial statements for the financial reporting process. Perform the accounting and monthly close procedures for the NJR parent company, as well as the accounting for the Company’s leases, stock compensation and pension and other post-employment benefit plans. Perform financial analysis and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Support the external reporting process by providing data and supporting documentation for SEC reporting and other statutory reporting requirements.

Major Responsibilities: • Prepare consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from other members of the accounting teams• Maintain and balance intercompany consolidation schedules and record monthly consolidating journal entries to the general ledger, including parent company debt and interest allocations; work with general ledger accountants to ensure proper consolidations and intercompany eliminations• Prepare general ledger entries for the parent company and a smaller subsidiary by maintaining records and files provided by internal and external sources• Prepare and maintain parent company and a smaller subsidiary balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis which may involve coordination with other accountants and departments within the organization• Prepare monthly general ledger entries for the Company’s leases and distribute to the subsidiary accountants• Prepare monthly and annual general ledger entries for the Company’s pension and other postemployment benefit plans• Prepare quarterly and annual SEC filing disclosures including the preparation of tie out files to supporting documentation for assigned areas of responsibility • Perform all monthly, quarterly and annual responsibilities for the Company’s stock based compensation plans including assisting Financial Planning & Analysis, External Reporting, Human Resources and the legal department on related matters• Assist with fulfilling requests made by the company’s internal and external auditors• Make recommendations for policy and procedure improvement by analyzing current practices and workflow and implement process enhancements• Maintain Sarbanes Oxley compliance procedures for parent company accounting, consolidation, leases, stock compensation, employee benefit plan processes and other assigned compliance tasks including accrual submissions, subsequent disbursement reviews and other than normal account balances• Additional ad hoc analysis as necessary

Position Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting • Minimum of 4 years of experience either in public accounting or at a public company in a general accounting role• Proactive and deadline-oriented• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills• Knowledge of GAAP and SEC accounting/reporting requirements and application• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and advanced spreadsheet functionality• Ability to utilize software systems such as Oracle ERP, Smartview, Blackline, LeaseAccelerator, Sharepoint and Workiva• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work with other members of the organization
