New Jersey Resources is seeking a Robotic Process Automation Development to work with business process owners to analyze, document, and transform their existing processes and software applications into robotic process automated solutions that drive operational efficiencies. Partner with the cross-functional teams and stakeholders to embrace and adopt robotic process automation and next-in-class technologies such as, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide a strong level of experience and knowledge in RPA technology with software applications (e.g., Automation Anywhere (A360 preferred), Power Automate, etc…) and associated methodology to support the business in identifying and automating manual processes

• Work closely with business process owners and users to analyze and document business practices and processes, review designs, develop bots and implement user acceptance testing

• Partner with business unit contacts and team members to gather requirements for RPA opportunities, and develop detailed business process, design, and solution documentation

• Create process flow, process maps and other documentation to complete automation assessments

• Design and develop proposed solutions with error handling and recovery strategies in automation

• Configure new automation processes with software application solutions using workflow principles that are efficient, well structured, maintainable and easily understood

• Develop bots and deploy reusable assets using RPA Automation Anywhere including all phases of the automation process such as design, test, maintain and monitor automated business processes

• Troubleshoot process and system malfunctions; identify and implement solutions to restore normal functioning based on severity of issues and potential impact on the business

• Work closely with IT to understand connectivity and impact to existing applications associated with proposed automation solutions

• Review, repair and modify RPA solutions to ensure technical accuracy, security compliance and reliability of bots

• Configure commands or write script to execute the robotic tasks or processes as specified in requirements and design documents; review incremental progress with a process subject matter expert to validate functionality

• Apply application modelling skills and knowledge of recording mechanisms, such as Object Cloning, Optical Character Recognition(OCR), and Image Recognition modes

• Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve chronic issues with automated processes and debug applications and systems

• Complete end-to-end functionality testing with test data; validate functionality testing and results with subject matter experts ensuring quality of coded components

• Communicate and escalate software-related issues to RPA vendors, suggesting improvements and interacting with other third-party resources

Position Specifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, information technologies, computer science, electrical engineering or other closely related fields

• Experience with technical business analysis, process improvement or value stream mapping

• Experience working with Automation Anywhere; certification in Automation Anywhere preferred

• Strong understanding of programming concepts, gathering requirements, process design and development lifecycle

• Experience through all phases of the technology life cycle including project planning, requirements definition, architecture design, build/configuration, testing and operational transition

• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Proven ability to apply leading practices and technology to solve problems

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interview colleagues, gather business and technical process details and identify solution requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively document and present business processes and automated solution designs to a non-technical audience

• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to take a logical route to the source of an error

• Solid end-user computing skills, with more advanced technological experience, including coding, database design, and data integration preferred

• A self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to new challenges, either on their own or as part of a team

• Strong understanding of excel macros, Visual Basic or other configuration/scripting type technology

• Ability to prepare and deliver status presentations to business and technology partners and senior management to facilitate key decisions

• Understanding of Agile project environment

• Provide non-work hour support for bot performance monitoring, issue identification, and issue resolution
