New Jersey Natural Gas, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Director-Environmental Services to implement and direct environmental programs and assure compliance with all environmental and hazardous waste laws and regulations. Drive strategy, implementation and reporting of all sustainability efforts for the New Jersey Natural Gas Company.

Major Responsibilities: • Develop departmental initiatives and strategy in support of corporate policies and commitment to environmental responsibility• Provide adequate resources to implement initiatives; provide leadership and direction for a team of environmental professionals• Identify and address key environmental liabilities and exposures through internal processes and procedures for all environmental activities• Work closely with consultants, regulatory agencies, attorneys, public officials and others to minimize corporate liability and enhance public image• Conduct environmental liability estimates and report to internal audit committee• Responsibility and accountability for managing the former manufactured gas plant (MGP) site restoration program• Negotiate contracts for necessary services, work with legal and purchasing departments to secure suitable terms and conditions as appropriate• Develop, manage and track annual expenses and capital budgets associated with Environmental Affairs and ensure current and future expenses are managed within budget• Demonstrate a commitment to performance objectives in conjunction with the Company’s mission, vision, values and objectives • Develop and monitor plan effectiveness and report key indicators to management• Collaborate with the NJR Corporate Sustainability strategic plans to develop action plans for New Jersey Natural Gas Company (NJNG), and drive implementation and reporting for those strategies• Ensure that measurement and reporting of sustainability metrics adhere to proper controls and that facts reported for NJNG are accurate and reliable

Position Specifications: • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or extensive experience with environmental regulations required; Master’s degree in environmental engineering or law degree with environmental experience is preferred• Minimum ten years of experience in environmental field required• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working with regulators, consultants and internal partners
