SUMMARY
The Engineer NPMM (Nuclear Procurement Materials Management) provides the technical expertise to assure that parts, components, and services used on the South Texas Project meet current design requirements. Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Material Control performs technical reviews of piece parts for non-safety, augmented quality, and safety related applications, performs computer search for stocked parts, reviews, and updates stock requisitions, responds to vendor exceptions to technical requirements and disposition material discrepancies, evaluates and approves/rejects administrative part changes and reviews and implements Commercial Grade Dedication packages.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Inventory Management (Preferred)
• Other: Without a degree, five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Engineering (Required)
EXPERIENCE
• Spec/Eng I - 0-6 Months experience in systems engineering, design engineering or ordering components and spare parts (Required). Commercial nuclear plant experience (Preferred)
• Spec/Eng II - 0-1 Years’ experience in systems engineering, design engineering or ordering components and spare parts (Required). Commercial nuclear plant experience (Preferred)
• Spec/Engineer III - 1-2+ Years’ experience in systems engineering, design engineering or ordering components and spare parts (Required). Commercial nuclear plant experience (Preferred)
• Spec/Engineer IV - 3-5+ Years’ experience in systems engineering, design engineering or ordering components and spare parts (Required). Commercial nuclear plant experience (Preferred)
• Spec/Engineer SR - 5-8+ Years’ experience in systems engineering, design engineering or ordering components and spare parts (Required). Commercial nuclear plant experience (Preferred)
• Spec/Engineer Staff - 8+ Years’ experience in systems engineering, design engineering or ordering components and spare parts (Required). Commercial nuclear plant experience (Preferred)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
ENGINEERING NPMM:
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Material Control performs technical reviews of piece parts for non-safety, augmented quality, and safety related applications, performs computer search for stocked parts, reviews, and updates stock requisitions, responds to vendor exceptions to technical requirements, disposition material discrepancies.
• Research drawings, manuals, spare parts list, material specifications, design reports, etc.
• Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Material Control, evaluates and approves/rejects administrative part changes and reviews and implements Commercial Grade Dedication packages.
• Assists in the review of vendor submitted drawings/bill of materials/manuals/catalogs and procedures.
• Assists in the review of Design Change Packages for impact to inventory and work orders.
• Manages spare parts inventory to support emergent work activities.
• Supports online and planned work activities with spare parts.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept ERO position as needed.
• Accept outage position as needed.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
• Ability to work, independently and interface with all levels of personnel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings.
• Ability to use a computer and current software.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week when on duty.
