Summary
Our IT Internship Program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in technology management and support within a corporate environment. The program is aimed at emerging IT talent and offers valuable exposure to real-world IT operations and project work. Interns will gain practical experience in IT systems, infrastructure, and support, while contributing to our company’s tech initiatives. STP is proud of the skills and insights our past interns have brought to the team, and we look forward to the new ideas future interns will bring.
Responsibilities
The intern will be assigned an IT project with specific objectives and performance goals and will work closely with their supervisor and mentor to ensure successful completion of all assignments.
Responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the maintenance and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and systems.
Collecting and analyzing system data, generating reports, and presenting results to team members.
Assisting in the development, testing, and deployment of software or hardware updates.
Assisting in security assessments and implementation of security protocols to protect company data.
Documenting processes and troubleshooting procedures for internal knowledge sharing.
Collaborating with various departments to resolve technical issues and improve systems' overall efficiency.
Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to South Texas Project Electric Generating Station.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Currently enrolled in a 4-year institution and pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Familiarity with basic programming languages, networking concepts, and IT infrastructure.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
Must be in good academic standing with your school.
