PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Systems Administrator will possess the experience and skills to support and maintain in a role within the Exelon IT organization by providing operational technical insights to stakeholders regarding IT system solutions being deployed within the enterprise environment. Must possess ability to monitor and maintain fundamental IT system initiatives and projects, [to include both cloud, non-cloud and hybrid-cloud models].
Systems Administrator will be expected to provide technical expertise to support delivery and maintenance of IT solutions supporting Exelon. Must have the ability to evaluate IT infrastructure and application solutions and make recommendations for supporting application and data workloads within various hosting models. Demonstrate skills for basic monitoring, configuration and maintenance of, current hosting services to support virtual hosting technologies, software defined datacenter technologies, hyper-converged datacenter hardware solutions, and software tools. This role will work in collaboration with other IT teams, their leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams, in all aspects of the secure & reliable hosting of applications throughout Exelon’s large & complex enterprise and real time operational environments.
*Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support projects, planning, maintenance and operations. Consults with leadership, project teams, application/service support teams and end users to support availability and perform feasibility analysis on potential changes related to [Insert systems here]. Provide technical expertise for maintaining performance and reliability of key IT solutions.
Work closely with peers to develop future improvement plans, resource requirements, migrations strategies, and project schedules. Understand other technologies and service offerings and their impact to the delivery of [cloud based/hybrid/on-prem] services.
Provide evaluation, testing, lab and mockup solutions as needed. Serve as a resource in assigned daily support and deployments to operations and ensure solutions meet business requirements and operational metrics (SLA’s). Responsible for operating and maintaining solutions at the component level, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting and metrics for [cloud based/hybrid/on-prem] services.
Provide feedback to peers for risks identified during business impact analysis, site risk assessments and disaster recovery planning.
Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within our own discipline or function.
JOB SCOPE
Position interacts with all levels of employees, including executives, vendors, involved in performance, maintenance, review, approval, testing and communication of business plans and services.
Position has expertise in Microsoft and or Oracle technologies
Position has hands-on competency in platform or application area of expertise, and tools/systems associated with these functions.
Work under supervision and oversight.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or related field) and 2-5 years relevant experience (IT infrastructure support, application support, [cloud hosting] cloud computing, disaster/recovery) or in lieu of degree, 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in operational domain such as cloud hosting, Wintel computing, and active directory
Ability to travel domestically.
24/7 on-call rotational duties
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification in area of expertise
Experience administrating servers on-prem (physical and virtual) and in Microsoft Azure
Certifications such as Azure Administrator, VMware, and Windows Server preferred.
Demonstrated ability with knowledge in current versions of VMware hypervisor technology.
