MasTec Advanced Technologies Supervisor, Learning in United States

The Learning Supervisor is responsible for supervising and training new customer contact personnel, supervisors and others. Responsibilities include directing daily work, evaluating performance, disciplining employees, planning, organizing, implementing and conducting training initiatives. Training initiatives include but are not limited to Management Development, New Hire Technical Training and Supervisory skills training.
Manages and directs the work of customer contact personnel during the new hire training period, including ensuring compliance with performance standards, time and attendance policies and company policies and procedures
Conducts new hire, technical, and product training for all customer contact personnel (e.g.. Safety, Ladder Handling, Installation Basics, etc.)
Delivers advanced technical training programs, Supervisor Training, Monthly Comcast Video, new products and procedures, Business Services, etc.
Trains and motivates technical employees utilizing a hands-on approach in classroom and non-classroom training settings
Evaluates individual progress in meeting training standards and determines if an individual is ready to advance or whether additional training is needed
Schedules individuals for training programs and monitors employee training levels
Develops and implements activities to evaluate effectiveness of training and development programs
Provides documentation for employees who lack minimum requirements for achieving the basic training skills for advancement
Designs, produces and maintains training and reference materials as needed
Assists in the development of future training programs
Conducts post training skills assessments to determine training needs and employee effectiveness and competency
Stays current on internal work processes, policies and procedures
Maintains a working knowledge of policies and procedures related to safety, technical operations, and customer service philosophies
Maintains appropriate levels of Technical Certification at or above the levels of anticipated trainees
Travels to a variety of locations to deliver training as needed
Consults with supervisors, managers, directors and VPs to determine effectiveness of training programs and make recommended changes
- No direct reports supervisory duties are during training for the new customer contact personnel, supervisor and others
Support Operational Technician meetings
Maintain accurate and organized trainee files
Maintain OSHA required documentation
Perform general clerical work such as filing, copying, mailing, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Salary: $38,400
Midpoint Salary: $53,042
Maximum Salary: $69,720

History of course planning / evaluation, monitoring and feedback
Ability to travel up to 75% of time to locations within the MasTec AT footprint
Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated presentation/speaking skills
Able to supervise others, including managing attendance and performance during training programs
Ability to generate rapport/interest while also dealing with difficult students
Ability to deliver training appropriate for various adult learning styles
Demonstrates intermediate computer/software skills including Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft PowerPoint. Excel, Outlook, Word
Must be able to demonstrate competency in installation and repair procedures of Comcast systems.
Must be able to demonstrate competency in pole climbing, ladder handling and basic safety procedures
Ability to climb ladders, towers and other structures
Able to lift and carry loads of at least 50 lbs.
Able to work within the limitations and confines of a bucket truck, attic, crawl space and/or on a ladder
- Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and skill required
1 year - MasTec AT or similar operational experience preferred
1 year - commercial/MFH2 experience preferred
Existing technical training instructor
Knowledge of phone line installation
Ability to manually demonstrate required tool usage
Position requires strenuous physical work and can be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Requires ability to travel and drive to job sites daily. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to stand, walk, climb a 40-foot extension ladder, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, handle, talk, hear, repetitive motion, and have eye/hand/foot coordination. Noise level is usually moderate. Work may be indoors (climate controlled, attics) or outdoors on roofs or in crawl spaces in extreme weather conditions. Must have prior to and throughout employment an acceptable background and current, valid driver’s license to commute to customer homes. Overtime, nights, weekends holidays, and variable schedules are highly possible and will be expected in order to perform the essential functions of the position. Hours fluctuate throughout the year with the busiest times during the summer months where six day workweeks are highly possible. Availability, willingness and flexibility to travel outside assigned site area for periods lasting as long as 3-4 weeks at a time. Such out-of-town travel may be necessary as often as once a quarter (on average) or four times per year. Travel accommodations and per diem will be provided for out-of-town assignments. May be on call to provide 24 hours-a-day coverage to customers.
Must meet weight restrictions in order to comply with OSHA and the Company safety standards.
