Position Overview:

As Superintendent for pipeline major projects, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process of all pipelines meeting this criterion, ensuring that the projects are completed safely, profitably, on time, and in accordance with the contract and corporate objectives.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure that the construction project complies with all safety, construction regulations and adheres to budgets.

  • Staff all projects with competent field personnel with appropriate pipeline and/or facilities experience.

  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.

  • Provide information and updates to allow for an in-depth analysis of the project to come up with the budget and deliverables.

  • Help establish risk factors, then manage and mitigate them to ensure the construction goes on smoothly.

  • Work closely with Project Managers to establish the requirements for the construction. This relationship requires full transparency between the PM and Superintendent, working closely with the PM to inform him of the current state of the project daily.

  • Create a culture in which health, safety, and wellbeing are a priority; where outcomes, quality, efficiency, and integrity are valued.

  • Promote a culture of open and honest communication among employees.

  • Participate in routine project reviews to update upper management on project progress, project safety, project forecast, project opportunities, and project risks.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills

  • Solid grasp of building compliance and safety regulations

  • Knowledge of the best HR practices

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills

  • Ability to work under pressure


  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior construction roles in the pipeline construction industry.

  • Qualifications in Engineering/Construction and/or relevant work experience specifically in pipeline and facility construction.

  • Strong commitment to health and safety, and ability to implement company Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.

  • Strong Commercial Management skills

  • Must be willing to travel.

  • Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.

  • Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

  • Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.

  • Ability to travel.
