Position Summary
The Sr. Account Executive Lead at EnerConnex will effectively build relationships, cultivate sales, and network with established organizations in the company’s target markets. The core focus of this role is to provide a consultative sale for the procurement of natural gas, electric, and other energy services to commercial and industrial customers within identified markets. This subject matter expert will proactively identify and analyze customer energy needs and develop customized energy solutions, while analyzing the market to ensure offerings remain competitive. This position helps establish EnerConnex as a “Preferred Energy Partner” by providing customers with timely, accurate, reliable, and high-quality service and problem resolution. This position also plays a key role in our continual product development process by communicating unmet customer needs, changing market dynamics and competitor offerings, while actively involving customers in the process to ensure products add customer value.
Essential Functions:
Develop a competitively superior understanding of industrial and large commercial energy markets, and leverage this expertise to proactively identify and analyze customer energy needs and develop customized energy solutions
Plan and develop sales strategies based on the competitive pressures and business goals driving a customer’s energy decisions, and analyze competitive product and service offerings to drive improvement
Coordinate the design and delivery of customized, supplemental energy reports to be distributed to customers monthly, where applicable
Represent the company at various business meetings and functions conducted by customers, business groups, municipal agencies, etc., where applicable
Monitor and oversee designated accounts and facilitate a team approach to problem resolution; facilitate the negotiation of pricing and terms of energy supplier agreements; review paperwork and agreements relative to providing service
Remain current on tariff trends and regulations that impact natural gas, electric, and other energy services; assist in the preparation/delivery of budgets and sales forecasts, where applicable
Identify potential customer and referral contacts in all states where electric and or natural gas supply is deregulated
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Working knowledge of business computer applications (Microsoft Office Products) and CRM sales tools
Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with customers in a competitive environment
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
Ability to be creative while performing in a dynamic work environment
Highly motivated to place cold calls to new prospects and to grow a book of business
Required Background:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or;
Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience
Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Preferred Background:
- Experience in energy procurement, utilities, or a similar industry, involving communicating energy terms and products
