We are seeking a Specialist who will report to the Director of Asset Management, to lead obligations related to off take agreements, leases, financial agreements, contractor agreements (O&M), and maintain any joint venture governance agreements.

This role will handle financial, commercial, and administrative activities necessary to ensure the optimization of the full lifecycle of an asset.

What You Will Do

Commercial Management

• Handle all commercial matters that require escalation from the site level.

• Develop long range planning and strategy to optimize lifecycle of asset. Maintain financial models.

• Support potential asset expansions, acquisitions, or divestment.

• Ensure appropriate oversight for risks related to market changes and congestion.

• Prepare and review new capital project cases.

Contract Management

• Act as Contract Owner for all revenue agreements, joint venture agreements, management agreements, and support major service contracts ($1M+)

• Ensure contractual obligations and deadlines are being actively monitored and satisfied.

• Review and negotiation of new contracts, settlements, resolutions, disputes

Joint Venture Governance

• Act as primary point of contact for joint venture partners

• Effective preparation and representation at Co-owners and Management Committee meetings

• Cultivate and leverage relationships with external partners and internal site teams

• Ensure proper governance and record keeping

• Evaluate proposals/decisions, obtain approvals, lead disputes

Who You Are

• A University degree and/or related experience in finance, business, engineering

• 5+ years of dynamic experience in renewable commercial operations and/or management of portfolio of assets

• Experience working cross functionally across both technical/operational teams. Lead work independently and where processes are not likely to exist requiring start up approaches and oversight

• Exceptional communication and partner skills – both written and verbal to internal and external audiences.

• Proven leadership skills in promoting team work, gap analysis and solutions delivery.

• Confident/collaborative individual contributor leadership skills to influence others and drive recommendations.

• Advanced planning and execution skills with a strong ability to deal with multiple projects and priorities at one time and to bring them to a successful conclusion with minimal oversight; works independently.

• Ability to adapt to continually changing priorities and influence/lead change.

• Strong facilitation, project management and analytical skills with the ability to establish good working relationships and communicate/work with employees at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

• Advanced computer technology skills and able to learn new systems quickly to become a SME.

Working Conditions

• Ability to deal with difficult situations, sensitive information and unpleasant events.

• Reasonable travel requirements within operational locations
