About The Position

The Senior Technical Architect (Solution Architecture) is responsible for establishing current and long-range direction of enterprise application technologies aimed at keeping the organization on the forefront of change for our transformation to an agile product-focused culture. This position will focus on solution architecture activities in partnership with our Digital development teams that support organization's strategies and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, refine, optimize, and support the solution architecture as required to meet the business needs and non-functional requirements.

  • Create and maintain the solution architecture artifacts, overseeing the use of best practices for modern application integration.

  • Present the solution for approvals where required.

  • Provide technical direction to team members. Be prepared to solve highly technical complex problems and be called on to consult on projects.

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand required capabilities, data flows, integrations and dependencies, integrating business knowledge with technical solutions.

  • Partner with other Architects and technical staff to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs.

  • Demonstrate broad technical leadership, impacting significant technical direction, exerting influence outside of the immediate team and driving change.

  • Investigate new technology to support the project requirements and perform a POC to demonstrate the applicability of the technology.

  • Support Enterprise Architects in creation of the technology roadmaps.

  • Be able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. Assess the compatibility and integration of products and services proposed in order to ensure a robust integrated architecture across the interdependent applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or equivalent computer related degree from an accredited college or university required. Master's Degree preferred. Substantial, related experience might be considered in lieu of education. Ten or more years of relevant IT experience with three or more years of architecture experience.

Specifically, demonstrated experience with the following:

  • Integration systems, data transfer approaches, analytics

  • TOGAF methodology.

  • Good understanding of design patterns and object-oriented analysis and design

  • Modeling/diagramming tools

  • Translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • Cloud technologies

  • Development using containerization technologies such as Docker, K8s

  • SQL and Non-SQL database.

Preferred Skills

  • DevOps automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment experience.

  • Jira/Confluence

  • SOAP and REST web services

  • IT compliance and risk management
