JOB TITLE: Safety & Training Manager – Aspen Utility Company

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Safety & Training Manager– assists Aspen Utility Company with planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT), reinforcing safety culture. Collaborates with logistics partners to manage risks and ensure compliance with safety standards, mitigating potential hazards and ensuring safe and efficient operations. Plays a key role in the resolution of claims and depositions, working closely with legal teams and other stakeholders to address safety-related issues and mitigate organizational liability.

What You'll Do

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/DUTIES:

  • Identifies training needs and training gaps

  • Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills

  • Inspects or evaluates workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

  • Inspects equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and maintain working relationships with employees, supervisory personnel, state and local officials, consultants and sub-contractors

  • Evaluates Safety, Health, and Environmental education and training programs

  • Have general understanding of environmental rules and regulations

  • Supports Corporate SHE Initiatives

  • Assists Aspen Utility Company in the development and enhancement of SHE programs

  • Job site visits

  • Prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective measures

  • Supports Aspen Utility Company in post incident investigation

  • Performs analysis and trending of SH&E statistics and metrics to proactively monitor safety performance.

  • Evaluates Aspen Utility Company SHE Program processes and procedures

  • Evaluates Aspen Utility Company trainers and provides critical feedback and coaching

  • Assists in developing training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials

  • Provides support on sensitive/critical projects

  • Develops, maintains, and presents Safety, Health, and Environmental Training Programs

  • Supports Corporate and Aspen Utility Company SHE training to ensure it complies with state and federal regulation

  • Represents Corporate SHE Department at Client/Aspen Utility Company meetings

  • Identifies the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs of classes, and teaching or instructing others

  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Regularly assesses risks associated with 3rdparty logistics and implements strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Takes an active role in resolving safety-related claims and depositions, providing expert insights, and working with relevant parties to reach satisfactory resolutions.

What You'll Bring

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 years of Safety experience

  • Utility construction or oil & gas industry experience.

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local safety laws.

  • Familiarity with the legal aspects of deposition and claims resolution.

  • 6 Years
