JOB TITLE: Relay & Instrument Technician

PAY RANGE: $48.54
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (With the ability to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays)
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains system protection equipment for generating stations and substations. This involves the calibration and repair of all types of relays and the functional testing and troubleshooting of system protection schemes. Maintains communication systems which are used for protective relaying. Maintains SCADA system and indicating meters. Tests transformers, circuit breakers, bushing, etc. to assess fitness for duty. Maintains recloser and regulator controls. Performs other minor duties of a similar or related nature that are incidental to the work of this classification and not in conflict with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School or equivalent. Must have completed a Relay & Instrument Technician Apprentice program.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
CAST (Construction & Skilled Trades Test)
