The Estimator is responsible for understanding, upholding and promoting the company’s Critical Success Factors, 1) Safety First!; 2) Financial Success (including operational excellence); 3) Employee Satisfaction (including development and training), and 4) Customer Satisfaction. Provide technical estimation of electrical projects from bid preparation through job close out documentation to the customer.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Perform takeoff and counts of drawings. 2. Solicitation and review of vendor and subcontractor quotes. 3. Formulate top sheet. 4. Collect necessary pre-bid information including discussion of scope or project and schedule with general contractor and competitors competing in bid. 5. Determine project type and estimating parameters required: labor rate, permit costs, material mark-up and tax adjustments for project location. 6. Draft estimates on pricing sheets and collect other necessary proposal documents, such as scope letters. 7. Assist Lead Estimator in final presentation of bid and sending out proposals. 8. Participate in planning or bid transition meetings as required. 9. Follow post bid closeout procedures. 10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requires the knowledge of electrical construction and theory at a level normally acquired through the completion of an electrical training program. Two year technical or business degree or equivalent combinations of education and estimating experience. Five years’ experience as electrical estimator preferable.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated conceptual estimating and financial/analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
