About The Position
The Operating Supervisor/EOP Coordinator is a dedicated position that supervises the coordination of the Callaway Energy Center Emergency and Off Normal procedures/guidelines to ensure the safe, legal and efficient operation of the nuclear power generating unit.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage the revision process of EOPs, OTOs, FSGs, SAMGs, and related procedures in accordance with Tech Spec 5.4, Procedures.
Develop plant specific procedures and guidelines based on the input from Callaway Energy Center (CEC) personnel, PWR Owner's Group (PWROG), plant modifications and regulatory advice.
Interface with Emergency Planning Department in the event an emergency or off normal procedure affects CEC Emergency Plan.
Administer appropriate screening of emergency and abnormal operations that may determine if a 50.59 / 72.48 screen or evaluation is needed.
Interface with all nuclear departments, internal company personnel, and external personnel as required to support keeping EOPs, OTOs, FSGs, SAMGs, and related procedures current with the industry.
Maintain and monitor implementation of the CEC Time Critical Action (TCA) / Time Sensitive Action (TSA) program to ensure Operator tasks are performed as expected per the Design Basis/FSAR.
Maintain and promote positive behaviors in the areas of commitment to excellence, teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, and stewardship.
Support performance improvement initiatives such as assessments, benchmarks, and the corrective action program.
Actively participate in training to develop and broaden the skills of the Callaway Energy Center workforce.
Attend industry meetings (2-3 per year) to enhance knowledge and assist in keeping emergency procedures and guidelines updated to industry standards. Participate on industry Core Teams to stay informed as new products become available.
Support Operations Day Staff with Operational Decision Making Issues, CR Screening, TRC meetings on an as needed basis
Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to assigned ERO facilities within the required RERP response time.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Must meet one of the following requirements: a.) Licensed Reactor Operator or Operating Supervisor with one or more years of experience in the position; b.) Previously a Licensed Reactor Operator or Operating Supervisor at another commercial reactor with at least 1.5 years of experience in the position; c.) Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related sciences with a minimum of 1.5 years of nuclear power plant experience and familiarity with EOP and/ or Off Normal procedures.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Good leadership, decision-making, attention to detail, communication and human relations skills are required. After preliminary review, selected applicants must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for additional selection procedures (e.g., interview) designated for this position. Qualified candidates are required to establish and maintain their permanent residence within sixty highway miles of the Callaway Energy Center. Security screening required for Callaway Energy Center access.
The Operating Supervisor / EOP Coordinator works the typical alternate work schedule in an office/plant environment. Additional hours and/or callouts may be required during refueling outages and to support procedure validations as the needs arise.
